Year 2 Visit to This Green Moon @ Swillington Farm
To inspire our Year 2 pupils for their literacy work we visited This Green Moon at Swillington Organic Farm. The activities were based on the story that the children are learning about ‘Where the wild things are’ by Maurice Sendak.
The children were able to explore and allow their imagination to wander as they tip-toed through the woods listening out for trolls, swilligogs and dragons that sneezed fire.
They learnt about protecting wild things that live alongside us and they loved making where the wild things head bands.
To finish the morning we toasted marshmallows using the fire from the dragon. We all had a wonderful morning and the children were excited to write and record videos all about their adventure.
