Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

Our vision for children with special educational needs and disabilities is the same as for all children and young people – that they achieve well in their early years and lead happy and fulfilled lives. (SEND Code of Practice Jan 2015)

Our Approach

At Woodlesford we strive to achieve together, learn together and succeed together. Inclusion is at the heart of our school ethos. Woodlesford Primary School’s Quality First Teaching approach focuses on ensuring all children have access to a good quality education that supports and facilitates them to engage meaningfully in school life. We aspire to offer excellence and choice to all children whatever their abilities or needs. We have high expectations and work hard to break down possible barriers to learning. Our pupils are happy, responsible and thoughtful individuals who have a real and relevant voice within the school.

Contact the SENDCO

My name is Mrs Kirsty Wilkinson and I am the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator at Woodlesford Primary School.

My working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

If you would like to discuss your child’s learning and their progress please contact your child’s teacher in the first instance. Should you then need to discuss next steps and options, phone the office to arrange a time or email me at the address below and I will get back to you.

We work closely with all colleagues and families to ensure appropriate provision.  This includes when a child is moving settings.  If you would like to discuss your child's transition, whether they are coming to us or moving on; or if you have any questions about your child's needs and access requirements for their learning, please do not hesitate to contact me at: sendco@woodlesford.leeds.sch.uk
